You are exhausted, housed inside of your Fyrefly type-IV armor. Even standing atop a mountain of True Stings, you haven't made a dent in them. You've fought your way through so many of their reinforcement, but the Aeon of Propagation never rests and THEIR blessing is endless.
There are so many of them, they've blotted out the sky.
The noise of a laser, an explosion. The buzzing as the Swarm flies and attacks you, you punch and kick and shoot at them,
"Forward! Forward!" "Requesting reinforcements!"
You lose your balance as another comes at you from behind. Another Type-IV unit comes to your rescue.
"On your feet. The target's straight ahead. Keep pushing forward."
There's only one thing to do, and that's follow the orders given. "Affirmative," you reply, quickly following their lead. Now there's a group of you, charging ahead, going towards the biggest explosion on the battlefield. Even as you run, you see more corpses, more explosions. Nothing uncommon, when it comes to a battlefield. You stay on your feet, but your fellows are not as lucky, you see one go down, body unable to survive the endless assault.
Another one, gone.
You don't have time to mourn them.
Finally you see the source of all the smaller Stings, looming above you, impossibly gigantic. The Swarm Mother.
The comrade at your back shouts their plan. "Whoever's still alive, cover me. I'm going for the Swarm Mother."
"Copy."
You're given a device with a red light. Unfamiliar. As you hold it, a holograph and information pops out.
"Activate it when you see the signal." With that, they're gone, rushing towards the Swarm Mother in motion- and then in another second, impaled on a limb. They're still alive, tearing off their mask, throwing it into onto the Mother, hoping to hit just the right spot. You see their body twitch, struggling to speak. "Now commencing... scorched-earth operations... For Her Majesty!"
You echo them, because all of this has always been- "For Her Majesty!"
The device in your hand switches from red to yellow and you do as you're asked. That's' the signal. You activate it.
The explosion is massive, tearing away earth, beetles, your armor.
Everything, everyone, incinerated. ]

he's never seen destruction on this scale before. their island is small and it has a million different problems, yes, but it has never seen war. their curse is so vast that most of the world avoids them. so to see this—this type of full-scale assault and explosion and what can only be called true combat.
